Olga Shamardina
Bioinformatician
Dr Olga Shamardina is a Bioinformatician in the Department of Haematology at the University of Cambridge.
From 2015 – 2021 she was a member of the Bioinformatics Pipeline Team at the NIHR BioResource Rare Diseases Project, Department of Haematology where she was involved in the processing of the large amounts of WGS, WES, HTS gene panels and genotyping array data from rare and common diseases participants and their families. She then worked as a Bioinformatician/Programmer in the IntrePID project (Integrative Translational Research in Primary Immunodeficiency) in the Department of Medicine, where she was a key member of the multidisciplinary team. In July 2022 Olga joined Haem-Match and the Department of Haematology.
Olga is experienced in the development of bioinformatics pipelines, software tools, databases, web interfaces, data collation and curation. She enjoys learning new things and being able to contribute to a project that aims at helping patients.
