Work Package 7:
Patient Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE)

Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) will underpin all aspects of Haem-Match.

 

We plan to fundamentally change the way the NHS identifies blood for and provides treatment to regularly transfused patients.

 

We have developed panels of representatives of patients and donors to ensure we develop the best system for those affected:

• Patient Panel – Transfusion Practice Panel

• Donor Panel – BTRU in Transfusion Panel

In addition to PPIE with patients and donors we will need to consult staff working for NHSBT and hospitals to understand the implications of a new system for staff and staff working practices.​
